Hi, I’m Victoria, I’m a humanistic therapist and the founder of Fineshade Therapy.
I offer person-centred, integrative therapy in a gentle and supportive way, aiming to create a safe and trusting space where you can explore whatever may be troubling you.
My journey into becoming a therapist has been shaped not only by my professional training, but also by my own personal life experiences.
My own experience of having therapy was transformative and played a significant part in drawing me towards retraining as a therapist. It helped me develop a deep trust in the therapeutic process, and I’m passionate about offering that same kind of support to others.
I believe we all hold an innate wisdom within us, though we can sometimes feel disconnected from it. I will work alongside you to help you reconnect with that inner resource, supporting you to find a way forward that feels right for you.
I am a trauma-informed therapist with experience supporting adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and domestic abuse, and I am also knowledgeable in working with neurodiversity. I draw on a range of approaches, including parts work (Internal Family Systems), attachment theory, and polyvagal theory, tailoring our work to suit your individual needs.
My Approach
My aim is to offer you a space where you can gently explore the impact of your unique life experiences. I will do my best to understand what things are like for you, and to welcome every part of your experience with empathy, curiosity, and without judgement. This can be an important step towards developing the insight and inner resources you need to navigate life’s challenges.
As a person-centred therapist, I believe that each of us has an innate wisdom within us, although at times we can feel disconnected from it, leaving us feeling lost or overwhelmed. I can support you in reconnecting with that sense of inner knowing, and will work alongside you in finding a way forward that feels safe, gentle, and right for you.
Having personally experienced the benefits of therapy, and having had the privilege of walking alongside others on their own journeys, I have developed a deep trust in the therapeutic process. I truly believe that, as we reconnect with what is already within us, we can begin to experience a greater sense of steadiness and inner peace, even when life feels uncertain or difficult.
For me, therapy is about more than talking. I recognise that emotional pain is often held in the body, not just the mind, and that there can sometimes be a disconnection between the two. Part of the work can therefore involve gently reconnecting mind and body. I may draw on somatic approaches and mindfulness where appropriate, which can be especially supportive when working with trauma, helping to calm and regulate the nervous system in a gentle, grounding way.
Alongside my person-centred foundation, I work in a trauma-informed way and have experience supporting adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and domestic abuse. I also have experience of working with neurodiversity.
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, including parts work (Internal Family Systems), polyvagal theory, attachment theory, inner child work, somatic approaches, and mindfulness. Where helpful, I gently integrate these into our work together, always guided by your individual needs, preferences, and what feels most supportive for you.
Above all, I respect your autonomy and will work collaboratively with you to shape the work at a pace that feels right. My aim is to meet you where you are, and to support you in a way that feels safe, supportive, and genuinely attuned to you.
